Edit: To be honest just watch Joker too. It tells the story of Joker becoming the Joker and Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job playing the role. It’s completely different from any DC / Batman movies and probably not what you’d expect from a movie that plays in this universe.

Although the mentioned tools are great I don’t know how your comment applies to OPs problem. They are asking for a tool to manage their server and not for a tool to automate their torrenting.

CasaOS is great for very simple (basic!) container management and easy creation of basic shares but it doesn’t offer any tools for RAID management and is only single user oriented so it doesn’t have any access control built in to it’s Samba shares. These features might come in the future though.

I don’t know Yunohost but I’d recommend you Openmediavault. It’s Debian based, offers tools for managing RAID, Docker, Shares, Users, , Access control Lists, Updates and much more.

It’s actually amazing and in active development.

This is simply not true. I recently tried Linux for gaming after several years because I read that Valve made some great progress. Installed Crusader Kings III and didn’t get Paradox Launcher to run which is necessary for any DLC.

This was literally the first game I installed from my huge library and it simpl didn’t work so I had to do two hours of research, trial and error and reading error logs to conclude that I wasn’t able to solve this problem.

This is the exact reason why I use Windows for gaming. It simply works 99 % of the time. And I don’t have the time to troubleshoot my games all the time.

I am more worried about whether Topton can build a functioning motherboard than about whether they spy on me.

Nope it’s not you. I am using jerboa. When I click on the link it opens a furry post. When I copy the link and open it in Firefox, it opens the intended original post.

I run Jellyfin on a RPi 4. It works for me, but only because I use codecs (h264/265 for video, AAC for audio) that are definitely supported on my players (NVidia Shield TV and android phones). This leads to Jellyfin not touching the files and just providing them to the player. As soon as any codec doesn’t fit my client (for example OPUS audio) Jellyfin starts re-encoding the audio and remuxing the stream and the stream just fails.

So yes: RPi4 is generally not able to run Jellyfin unless you have a very specific setup.

Because none of those (except hydro and geothermal, but those are both extremely location dependent) will deal with the baseload power generation we need.

Is this the problem though? I mean: The sun is shining somewhere at all times and the wind is blowing somewhere at all times. Energy is being produced. The problem is either storing it (okay, batteries are expensive, I get it) or better: distributing it.

In Germany we have the problem that we are producing a surplus of wind energy in the north but currently we are not able to distribute the energy into the south of Germany which results in needing gas power plants in the south while at the same time shutting down wind generators in the north. This is obviously bad.

Upgrading our grid would solve this problem and would vastly reduce our need for gas energy. This is costly but is far from impossible.
