Thanks for the explanation. I guess I owe you an apology, so I’m sorry. I seem to have no visibility over that part of the comment thread even though I participated in it.

Nope you’re wrong, in fact, the jokes continued on a different comment thread where users understood the format. No further jokes came from this comment thread where they commented “what is hummus”.
Where are you receiving these spam messages from? Random numbers aimed at marketing or what?
They were trying to make the joke go in a single-definition circle, which destroys the joke’s format. 🤷♂️
Some kind of dip made from chickpeas. 🤷🏻♂️
Try to keep up…
edit: Shit,my bad. I replied on the wrong comment. Intended to comment the above on the reply that asked “what is hummus”.
No that’s humus - hamas are big pickups/SUV’s made for civilians, based on the Humvee’s design.

You didn’t state if you use an adblock extension, which is what this is all about.
Linux performance with proton has increased so drastically in recent years, your statement can be taken as wishful thinking at first, but there is a definite trend and I agree that Linux will probably be the powerhouse of gaming in coming years.
You’ll be surprised to learn how much overhead Windows has and how much system resources they take up to keep all their trackers and bloat running in the background. It really makes a startling difference when you switch to a Linux OS. It can even make your hardware feel more powerful, because it only needs to deal with the game’s performance, and not also running a shitton of unneeded services in the background all the time.

FYI, the Haven F-Droid repo has seemingly not been updated in 4 years. Latest available .apk is from 2019.
Thank you. You had the opportunity to explain why you use it and why you recommended it, and yet you had me google it myself like I could have done from the start. Now I know it’s a browser (like your comment implied) based on Firefox with additional privacy features. But I still don’t know why you recommended it. Oh well.
Exactly this. I wasn’t paying for using third party apps because I hated reddit as a website. I payed because it offered me the user experience I desired. Customization, ad-free, privacy-focus, etc. If they offered that with a paid solution to an official “pro/premium” app, I would have been interested in buying a yearly subscription. But no, the baseline experience on the official app is the same for everyone. Zero customization, doesn’t even support the core moderation functions that the site’s mods and maintainers need to do what they do (for free).
Would have been cool of there was a legal way to migrate some of the core content created by users on Reddit to Lemmy. I’m not even talking about media like images and video. Just conversations and opinion posts, guides, help and advice.

Probably possible yeah, but if the account gets flagged after users reporting it, they’ll need to get a new number afterwards, which isn’t that easy (at least where I live).
