Honestly you hit the nail on the head with the “leftist 4chan” bit. I’m not someone who chases up votes or anything, but I do like when I see my comments resonate with other people and get the “agreement vote.” That doesn’t happen here.

Especially in the gaming communities of Lemmy the users are so hateful towards literally any upcoming “AAA+” game that gets posted about. Like you can’t even say you think something looks fun without a bunch of people just coming to downvote you or give you shit for daring to announce that you’re excited for something new.

I’ve seen some pretty hard right trolls on here since joining up. Not many, but a few.

Photoshopped pictures of women, but they were turned into horrifying monstrosities. Like some might be missing arms, or have six of them, or their arms and legs might be switched, or they have no head and their face is in their torso.

Weird shit like that.

Not the wildest, but r/testtubebabes was pretty fuckin wild. It was about 50/50 whether the posts were genuine or just messing around.

One of the worst ones I ever saw was r/nomorals; videos of straight up assaults, murders, and all kinds of violence that actually made me feel sick. I’m glad it got banned.

I use Sync, I couldn’t find a report button. Maybe I just couldn’t find it cause I’m dumb, but absolutely report then block.

And the person has other comments putting on full display who they really are.

So yes, this is definitely a “block and move on” kind of thing.

Literally nowhere in any of my responses have I alluded to me being an absolute pacifist. In fact, one of my replies implies that I’m not, I’m just against war (because, you know, it’s fucking atrocious for all involved), because you can absolutely oppose the act of war while still being down for some violence yourself.

Opposing war doesn’t necessarily equate to pacifism, either.

There are still plenty of subs that are considered 18+ when they technically shouldn’t have to be.

I remember when people were trying to make posts telling others about Lemmy. A lot of them just straight up got removed. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s still the case.
