Aren’t all commercial plane turbine engines high bypass turbofans? (excluding turboprop)
Serious question, because I assumed that’s how they all worked, but this sounds like it is special or in spite of and it got me wondering.

It is a race between mayo and mustard. Having to pick one I’d prefer mustard.
Arch Linux and Cinnamon.
I like it simple without being too opinionated like some other DEs. I am eagerly awaiting Wayland support though
Yea, kinda. It forces it hard though.
There is no obvious way to skip the MS account. You can select that it is a managed device and create a local user that way, but afaik that’s the last option left and obviously it is there for a very different intention.
I am sure that if MS could remove it completely they would.
Unfortunately it has a habit of jumping around due to its asynchronous weird fuzzy search. So when typing fast you sometimes randomly launch the wrong action. It is especially inconsistent, because files are also indexed and by default it also includes web searches so the behavior is always changing.
I believe this got introduced with Windows 10 and feels just bad. Unless you are typing slowly and actually scan the results the search is doing a bad job as an application launcher like it was with Windows 7 for example.
Limburger or Esrom are probably my favorites. Mild, but aromatic cheese is what I prefer. Unfortunately the smell can be off-putting.
That’s fine. The problem lies in talking about their works which might encourage others to buy the books or merchandise etc. Unfortunately the best result would be if the work and the author would be forgotten, but that’s unlikely to happen. So at least when talking about the works it should never be omitted that the author is a horrible person who abuses her influence to hurt other people.
Hence I disagree with the take. This way around the work should not be separated from the creator, because popularizing it is enabling even if you won’t consume any more than what you already have, others might.
No offense, but just no. If you don’t like the art, but the artist that’s fine, absolutely no problem here, but supporting a person like J. K. Rowling financially by consuming their creation is actually a problem and should be opposed.
This view is enabling horrible people and not okay.

Yea, fair point regarding the single point of failure. I guess it was one of those scenarios that should just never happen.
I am sure it won’t happen again though.
As I said it can just happen even though you have redundant systems and everything. Sometimes you don’t think about that one unlikely scenario and boom.
I thought this was a joke, but looking at the picture again this absolutely might be the case.

Impressive!
This happens. Recently we had a problem in production where our database grew by a factor of 10 in just a few minutes due to a replication glitch. Of course it took down the whole application as we ran out of space.
Some things just happen and all head room and monitoring cannot save you if things go seriously wrong. You cannot prepare for everything in life and IT I guess. It is part of the job.
Yea, unless used degoratory I don’t think it is a big deal either. It is probably a cultural thing and I respect it.
Thinking more about it it would also be weird to call a woman female in my native tongue and could also only be used in a degoratory manner. We also have some older words which would be even worse.
No, I think I get it after putting some more thought into it.
I mean transfem and transmasc are common terms in trans communities. I assume it has nothing to do with trans people but a human female is called a woman hence calling women female is frowned upon. You call a female animal a female, but not a human usually.
There is some nuance in there I probably don’t fully understand either as a non native speaker.
This is amazing. It’s a great idea.
Useless, but fun.
Kinda. They still appear with a message telling you that they are blocked. You can press a button to show the comment anyway. It is like a soft block where you can decide whether you want to read a comment or not.
Of course not never, but not often enough to even recall once really.
It sounded like you are chewing on straws or so. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
Teeth? You are using straws wrong. They are supposed to only touch your lips
I don’t really have that problem myself, but I fully agree anyway. It does not matter what your use case is. It is 2023, flash storage is cheap and we can get much more storage for any other device for a fraction of the cost. $100 is ridiculously overpriced.
Honestly by now I would have expected 1 TB to be the default, but somehow we got stuck with low internal storage for the past 10 years.
Ah, gotcha! Thank you for the explanation.
