It’s funny Lemmy was created as a way to get away from “Reddit brand authotarian weirdos” yet Lemmy’s creator is a “Reddit brand authotarian weirdo” and so is most of the main moderation team on ml and elsewhere you’ll think that with there combined experience on Reddit that they’lld learnt by now that censorship is bad. But then again what am I saying with my experience with tankies and socialists I’ve learnt a lot of them aren’t that bright

I subbed to r/conservative myself I tend to like to browse most political subreddits left and right. I didn’t see any “proving yourself to get a pass to enter” I just remember making a comment on a post about Tiananmen square on the anniversary clicking the join icon then getting 2 automod messages one telling me that I’m banned from justiceserved and another alerting me that I’ve subbed to r/conservative.as simple as that. I think you might be refering to r/blackpeopletwitter which uh I think this screenshot should speak for itself

Way im interpreting and seeing it Is that its just a case of that as soon as you see someone you don’t agree with politically then they say something you don’t like that you will misinterpret there words as “hateful content” is this correct?

I personally would make a case for there being alot of misinformation on twitter but same applies for most other social medias as well… you can find bountiful amounts of misinformation on lemmy mastodon reddit Facebook Instagram essentially if it has a userbase there’s a good chance some misinformation has been spread on there it’s the internet people like to lie on the internet all the time whenever to prove a point gain internet points or get better exposure

I personally believe that communites such as lemmygrad and people like the main developer are driving people away from lemmy

Maybe it’s worth moving to a bigger instance. I could see something like this gaining a large amount of momentum if it visible to a larger audience

1.9 million users is still one hell of a userbase more than lemmy will ever see maybe if some major events happen such as reddits rules getting stricter or mods getting more heavy on the ban hammer then we may see some more users join lemmy
