How many EVs will it take for fuel prices to start decreasing? Or do prices only react to increased demand 🙃

Oh yeah I’m sure you predicted LLMs, and that they would need ridiculous amounts of training data wayyyy back in 2005 when Reddit started lol. Super easy to predict. Good job bud.
They wouldn’t have posted if they knew this was going to happen. They posted because it was fun, not for this.
They may be morally opposed to AI (as there are many valid reasons to be opposed to it), or they may just have wanted to have been able to make an informed decision before posting, but by retroactively training the AI on their posts they’ve robbed them of the agency to make that decision.
That’s why they’re upset.
Why do you think it’s about wanting a slice? They posted on Reddit with no expectation of profit. But they don’t want others to profit off it either. It’s not that complicated.
How is not wanting capitalist companies to profit off of your content not aligned with complaining about the capitalist mindset of the world? Wtf lol.
That doesn’t really sound beneficial to me
Come on, Microsoft was obviously worse. Steve Ballmer was atrocious.
Well tbf chatGPT also shouldn’t remember and then leak those passwords lol.
Tell me you think capitalism is working just fine without telling me you think capitalism is working just fine.
That’s cool. I didn’t know that. Obviously no regen braking so won’t ever quite be as efficient downhill as an EV, but I’m glad ICE cars considered this and have a fuel/environment saving solution.
It’s very clear you are not arguing in good faith.
Other economic systems don’t incentivise companies to produce trash products that break quickly to keep the customer coming back, or to use non-recyclable materials because they cost 3 cents less.
Capitalism =/= money.
/jk right? Right???
Sure would be nice if capitalism didn’t exist 🤪
I think the joke is that not many people use the fediverse.
Being 2m tall they have to eat quite a bit more than average, and it sounds like they’re not.
We’ve made some strides on the renewables front yes but it’s never been enough. We’re still increasing our carbon output year on year, due mostly to the political willpower for renewables simply not existing. Two years ago we had a prime minister who didn’t acknowledge climate change. The fact that we’ve got any renewables at all is simply because of the economics of it. We get so much sun it’s impossible for us to not lead the world on solar, and yet our government still drags their feet on renewables (yes, even Labor are barely any better on environmental issues).
Definitely not. There’s much less land mass in the southern hemisphere, so there’s also less utilisation of natural energy. Speaking as an Australian we’re also not super great at embracing the whole renewables thing so that definitely comes into it too lol.
Yeah for the record I think it’s a good thing, but wanted to point out how the supply/demand system so often finds ways to keep screwing the consumer when demand reduces.
