  • Alt-text descriptions should clearly convey both the content and the meaning of the image, and should aim to use as few words as needed. Describe what’s essential to understanding (and enjoying!) the intent of the posted photo — you don’t need to add in a sentence for every visual element, but should include as much as you need to create an accurate portrayal of the image. Cut out unnecessary words and combine separate sentences as much as possible. One to two sentences is usually more than enough room to describe what’s going on.

As mentioned before, these photos convey information to the people scrolling your page, even if you are just posting them to brighten up your feed. They have a purpose, and for that reason, alt text should focus more on the image’s meaning than its aesthetics. This means you’re not focused only on what the object in the photo looks like, but what it is and why it was posted.

I was hoping to see a format that people can easily follow and just fill in the blanks, but I suppose this is the gist of it: Describe the main purpose of the photo succinctly rather than each and every individual thing you can see.

  • Depending on the area you might have limited dispensary options, the big cities in Oregon have tons of dispensaries but smaller towns usually have like 1 or none. I’d recommend going shopping in one of the cities so you have more variety to choose from.

Also I’d recommend buying a cheap silicone bong. They’re indestructible so you won’t have to be so careful with them or go through any heartbreak if a drop occurs; perfect for just focusing on the smoking and fun parts of your trip.

  • Hot is the best way to see new, good content consistently. Sorting by top or active will show about the same posts, in my experience.

I typically sort by top + all, then top + subscribed to see the most-engaged posts of the day first; afterwards if I still want to browse I sort by hot + subscribed or new + all.

I’m in a legal state too and the prices vary drastically based on how strong or fresh the flower is. I can get an ounce of older flower for like $40-50 or 3.5 grams of top-shelf for about the same price. I usually stick to the cheaper stuff but occasionally will splurge on the really good stuff.

All this to say: if you like the bud and it gets you stoned in only a couple hits, then it’s worth $60 for ¼.

  • The only job I’ve had where I might have been “managing” employees older than myself we never had any issues because of an age gap. In fact, I even trained a guy to operate the same machine I ran who was like 30 years older and we got along great.

The best advice I can give is simply: don’t make it a big deal and they probably won’t either. I showed them the same amount of respect I would to someone my own age and didn’t treat them like they should be “higher up” in the field because of their seniority.

In my situation the older guy I trained was a railroad worker for like 20 years before switching to the machining job; we both understood that I had a couple years ahead of him at this particular facility and he took the opportunity to ask questions learn a lot while we worked together.
