You can put a LOT of Javascript on a microSD card, then burn that. Or any other language but Javascript somehow feels appropriate.

Electronics is usually photographed in lightboxes with soft lighting all around, which can be somewhat achieved with LED strips around the front side of the display area; however you’d need to add bezels so that viewers aren’t bothered by the lights. Based on the brown, red and gold features of the objects, I would pick a warm white color but that depends on other lights in the room and it would clash with the blue wall (not that the radios don’t already). If you want a museum-like display rather than atmospheric, I’d go for neutral white and keep that consistent across the room.
Two or three antique-incandescent-imitating LEDs. They didn’t have fluorescent lamps at home back then.
Probably more. Just search for ‘x’ in a name register and filter the normal ones like Alex.
Yeah, (O)OP is such a rookie they probably call it Homework

Yes. Technically, a similar vote could repeal the law just as easily but there is a history of governments not giving their power away easily; implementing it also sets a precedent and creates technical enforcement options for other governments willing to go through with something similar in the future, or for hackers to exploit because gov-rooted devices will remain in operation for years after the potential repeal.
Absolutely hilarious but technocally the term is correct as we have 1 natural satellite.
They just transitioned to Google Wallet, which lacks some features, notably peer-to-peer transactions. The API for virtual banking cards that most banking apps use instead of including their own NFC driver, also called “Google Pay”, will keep working. At least that’s how I understand it.
Cameras are not too great. Ground-station-based radio positioning systems, some of which can be used to enhance GPS precision to centimeters, already exist. (The ground stations, in a mesh tens of kilometers apart, get their position to that precision by averaging GPS over several days.) I’m pretty sure there is already a system on non-GPS frequencies too.
Well, only some plastics can be recycled, and not very well at that. Plastic manufacturers have known this for 50+ years and never told us.
GIMP’s mission statement is 1. be hateful to use
It hurts to say but you’re right. I was like “can’t you remap the right mouse button to another tool? Everything in the context menu is in the Menu bar regardless” and they responded with “nope, design philosophy”
Sure, it’s only garbage people who litter. But don’t forget that it was lobby of the plastic industry who overemphasized the waste and recycling system as a solution to pollution, as opposed to reducing consumption.
Building one with the old proven design takes about 15 years.
Source? I’d say the median is closer to 8, 15 years is more like the worst 5-15% percentile.
Our train network is held to high standards, or so I thought. Very disturbing.
Well, you can block this community now. It’s the reason why !enoughmuskspam@lemmy.world and others exist, to offload posts on annoyingly frequently discussed topics from general communities like !technology@lemmy.world.
I don’t even think most of these would hold up in court unless they add “r/” in front of them. Reddit reserves the non-exclusive right to use user content however they want, and I don’t think this includes making user-submitted phrases their trademarks. I haven’t read the ToS though so another clause might reserve this right too. There might be a claim to words like “subreddit”, “r/” and “RPAN” and derivatives because they are based off the “Reddit” trademark.
I know. I’m not saying I need it any faster and most people in fact don’t, but as they have no incentive to widen their bandwidth, we can expect outages if they ever make some lawless group angry.
I think IA is already overloaded as-is. I know it’s hard to keep that insane amount of storage available but it’s still always slow. They probably only have one server location, as opposed to a global CDN like YouTube.
I was not suggesting anything else about the stone would fool anyone. Just don’t bother trying to decode them if you expect standard runes.
