I completely forgot that there would still be some places with plastic bags at the register. I have a bin I bring and everything just drops in no problem.

They should also give me a discount for my travel to the store and taking the items off the shelf.
Makes sense, thanks for the response! It is kind of fun to have a mix of the higher level (like R/Scilab) and lower level (which I used Fortran for mine).
I’m curious why you chose R as an alternative to Matlab instead of Scilab. Scilab is specifically designed to be a free and open source alternative to Matlab.
For my thesis I was writing some test software and when deciding which language to use Matlab was immediately ruled out due to the cost (and also the extra cost for the toolkits I’d need). I instead went with Scilab which now means that anybody wanting to reproduce my results can do so freely.
The change here hasn’t been that bad other than half of the user base literally shitting themselves if you mention ads or windows. It’s also sad missing out on some smaller communities that don’t exist here yet and the amount of content, but it’s nice at the same time because I waste less time scrolling through.
I reported someone for saying they would rail a child character from a video game but got a message back from the admins saying it didn’t violate any rules.
I used to be the only one of my friends that use reddit. Around the start of the pandemic some of my more “normie” (for lack of a better term) friends started signing up as well.
I think a lot of the old guard has left/is on the verge of leaving, but I don’t think there’s any shortage of new users that don’t know what a 3rd party app is, only ever used new reddit, etc.
Reads more like a joke than bitching imo
I left at the start of the blackout which was 2 weeks under 10 years for me.
Also removable batteries gone
I’m pretty sure they got downvoted for being rude
Although can’t sign in to comment/upvote and no NSFW.
I think there are bots that do stuff like that
It was so nice having a 3.5mm jack
9 years ago the galaxy S5 had a removeable battery and was ip67 rated. I’d bet it’s doable.
Reddit is dying, but only in the way twitter and Facebook “died” back around the early 2010’s. User count will continue to grow, but the community will lose its identity.
I’d have a hard time believing that anybody still on reddit isn’t like that.
Grocery stores used to get your items off the shelf for you but now we do that. I think we’re just used to a cashier scanning the items, so it will obviously take time for people to adjust.
