…until Reddit needed to start promoting themselves on other platforms. I’ve been subscribed to AllRecipes email service for years, and I never recall any previous newsletter mentioning Reddit in glowing terms within the body of the message.
Might not have been Reddit’s instigation. Maybe the Allrecipes writer just needed content.
That’s always possible. But it would be quite a coincidence.
Before the blackouts I was doing some news searches for reddit. I would notice the concessional article title similar to “reddit users say” or “according to reddit”. I was dismissing them as shoddy clickbait listicles. Now I am wondering if it was clickbait or payola.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t paying attention to the dates on them. Some of them went back at least a couple of months, I think.
